Benghazi: Symbol of Obama's Leadership

Did Mona Charen write one word anyway after Bush's incompetence before 9/11, 2001? I bet not.

What the hell are you saying? Bush did not have any warning or numerous requests for assistance. I think you miss the point Obama supporter. This is a matter of these Americans requesting assistance, and being denied, while the rotten bastards in Washington DC sat there and watched these four men (no these Four BRAVE MEN) dies. they are pathetic cowards and should be brought up on charges.

That's it...Blame Buuuuuuushhhhh...that is all you people have. It can't be that your guy is totally incompetent; it must be someone else's fault. Adults take responsibility, and after 4 years--this is ALL Obama's mess!!! You are saying that 9 months after being sworn in, 9/11 was all Bush's. Why do you not hold your guy to the same standard? You really call your credibility into question here.

I disagree.

Liberals have no credibility to call into question.

Your point?

This is about what TPTB did _while_an_attack_was_underway_. Tere is a world of difference between the stated goals of a hostile group and the handling of truckloads of chatter agents have to sift through day after day.

One can properly debate the handling of intelligence before ..2001, but reports we hear about it now can create the impression that it stood out from all the rest. It did not. At any given time there are myriad threads in the chatter. Agents have to weigh everything they see and hear for credibility and probability. In the 2001 case, their weight calculations were wrong. Call it incompetence if you will; I doubt you were there.

Also, it's a bit rich to call it Bush's incompetence, unless what you are saying shorthand is that of the intelligence services, who are mostly unrelated to the administration. What may have bubbled up from the agencies who keep their ears to the tracks into Bush's White House I can't say, but let's not automatically call lack of prescience incompetence.
The first statements from the Obama administration about what happened in Benghazi seemed plausible. There were, after all, protests throughout the Muslim world on the anniversary of 9/11 -- some incited by Islamists using an obscure video to arouse anti-American fervor in the mobs, and some, no doubt, just pelting U.S. embassies on general principles. When the administration explained that one of those protests had spun out of control and led to the murder of our ambassador and three other Americans in Libya, there seemed no reason to doubt it.

For a day. But within hours, the administration account deflated...
