It is my sincere hope that this is dealt with in a civil way. The administration's desire to demagogue the Republican's on this matter is only going to postpone its inevitable resolution and potentially endanger the president and our country. People are getting really wound up over the matter and it will end badly for everyone if this isn't resolved. The damage to the U.S. image, economy, and system of government will be widespread if Obama doesn't have the good sense to step up a deal with this matter squarely. John McCain had the same accusations leveled at him and he submitted his case to a judge who rendered an opinion declaring him eligible to serve. SR 511 the Senate resolution passed to declare John McCain a natural born citizen and eligible to run for President made the same presumption and this piece of legislation was sponsored by none other than Barack Obama. I was completely unaware of this issue until recently. Initially I dismissed the claims as being preposterous. After all why didn’t Hillary or McCain exploit this? After doing some poking around I have determined that we should not be so hasty in dismissing the birthers. The privacy and constitutional law that Obama is exploiting to keep this issue out of the courts make it difficult to understand the whole the matter.
