You don't file an auto insurance claim when you need an oil change or tire rotation. You use your own money for maintenance. Auto insurance is for when you wreck your car, a catastrophic event. This is why auto policies are cheap. This is why automotive maintenance is cheap. This is why you can get estimates for work. This is why you can demand additional service at no cost when work isn't done right the first time. This is what health care and health insurance used to be. We need to return to those days.

My point was the sequester does not affect any of current DoD operations because it does not cut current spending or programs by one penny. Also, the "cuts" were not across the board. DoD took almost 50 percent of the total sequester "cut".
