I agree with Victoria; Obama should have read that letter publicly. That's the thing with government, they don't always do what is best for the public, but sometimes that's a good thing. I am not saying that this is a good thing that he didn't read it publicly, but I am saying that the government knows what they are doing most of the time. I like this because it shows the President as a person and not just as a National figure head. It shows the human side of the president, one that some people never see amid the politics and controversy of some political heads. Jeff-CCBC

I can see what the different choices offer, and what exactly will happen for each one. Where many people will debate which plan is better, there is one thing that will be the same for every choice, and that is paperwork, the one thing no one can get away from. Almost as inevitable as death, and taxes. We may have to have people pay more money for health care, but I know no one really wants more paperwork to fill out. There may also be people that will argue with most of these choices that increase the debt and will also cost people money, that don't always have the money to pay those costs. One big problem that I see is that the government giving people an allotted amount of money to buy a policy. We all know that the government...

I am a little fuzzy on what exactly started it, besides the unions wanting to keep their bargaining rights, and the governor wanting to take them away. I see this as a good fight for the unions, because without their bargaining rights they're basically S.O.L. I also commend the democrats for leaving so the bargaining rights aren't thrown out the window. I also find it odd that the governor is still holding strong, since the unions that he excluded are getting ticked off. I can see that he wants to be seen as a strong leader, but he's definitely not going to get re-elected if he keeps on fighting with his constituents. I think he just needs to find a way to come to equal terms with the unions so people can go back to work. Jeff-CCBC
Being a college student I have seen the failure of the public schools and been in it all of my life. In any school, be it elementary, middle, or high school, the students are basically brainwashed to forget almost everything they have learned in a "year" at school over summer, because public education teaches them everything over again. Now there may be some new information learned, or some courses going to the next level, but for the most part we are taught the same thing over and over again for about a dozen years or so, and then we have to go to college to pick a career choice we have no experience in and stick with it until we learn of something better. I know that every kid is on the "assembly line" to learn the same...
