About half way through I expected a gotcha. Then at the end there was no gotcha. You have to be kidding, right. There is no way the Dems are giving up on their electoral lock on the White House. The big states like California, New York, and Illinois, that rep over a 100 electoral votes are insolvent and need the feds to keep them propped-up. It is bankruptcy for the US as there are not enough voters left that can do the math and/or are willing to give-up their favorite federal program. Here's wishing Victor is right, but not counting on it. By the way, the western is The Man That Shot Liberty Valence. John Wayne actually did, but Jimmy Stewart is given credit, becomes a US Senator, and gets the girl. Obama is only a legend in his own mind.

We can imagine what lies ahead in 2017 -- no matter the result of either the 2014 midterm elections or the 2016 presidential outcome.

There will be no more $1 trillion deficits. About $10 trillion will have been added to the national debt during the Obama administration, on top of the more than $4 trillion from the prior eight-year George W. Bush administration. That staggering bipartisan sum will force the next president to be a deficit hawk, both fiscally and politically.
