Being adult about the problems and telling people the truth about the fiscal mess is not a prerequisite for the job at this point in time. It just takes a lot of money, a shameless campaign staff, and a nice speech focused on dividing us into racial, economic, and social groups to get elected. Never mind that none of that has anything to do with governing the country.
