Charles: I try to simplify, simplify. Can one gather from your piece here that Democrats are, well, like mosquitos? Or, carried a little further, that those who depend most upon them are the mosquitos?

Hmmmm. I'd imagine the Far Left are the fleas and mosquitoes, battening on the Body Politic (AKA We the People/the American Taxpayer); in turn, in true parasitic fashion, these examples of insect life leave behind eggs and secondary infections and diseases. (Cf the Chuck Norris essay in today's TownHall regarding the billions of taxpayer dollars paid out in "tax credits" to illegal aliens who have not contributed a dollar in tax revenue to this country.) This would, I think, explain the "function" of those who depend the most on government handouts. (Hello, Julia! Yes, this means you!!)

And He who loseth wealth, loseth much
He who loseth a friend, loseth more
He who loseth his spirits, loseth all
Spanish Proverb

The Dow closed down Friday for the 12th time in 13 sessions, the first time that's happened since October 8, 1974. Obviously, it's a red flag and a negative sign. I think it's more an indictment of lack of leadership and its potential impact on the economy than current economic circumstances. The dollar continues to surge against the inept Euro, and the more the dollar moves up, the more money leaps out of stocks and other assets into US treasuries...
