You see, I DO have the "balls" to explain to the bereaved parents of Sandy Hook, face to face, that the weapons used at Sandy Hook were not "Military style assault weapons" and so banning such will do no good.

I know that, since you're a lib, the fact that they've done something makes you feel better, whether or not what they do would actually make any difference. Sandy Hook happened because a mother was irresponsible with her guns. She knew her child had problems-she was working on institutionalizing him, but she was taking him to the shooting range with her and teaching him how to use the guns she had, and then she left them where he could get them. They should have been locked in a gun safe. The only law that would have made any difference in Sandy Hook would have been a law that required people to keep their guns in a locked gun safe, and then how would you ever really enforce that?
