Voting for Liberals

I do think the people voted for the wrong guy. The question is why. Part of the reason is that most people, both the well educated and the less educated, still believe that what they hear on the news or read in the newspaper is the truth. It took several years for a friend of mine to convince me that the "New York Times," to name one egregious example of a newspaper that confuses the editorial page and the front page, is not my father's "New York Times". (My father died in 1972, when the "New York Times" was still a reputable newspaper. I don't know what it will take to convince the majority of the people that the media cannot be trusted.

Interesting to see the testimony of Liberals, who did not act like fools, and listened to Rush Limbaugh's opinion, for themselves. They became aware of the pool of lies they swim in, with their Liberal enablers. Rush was demonized, but they were independent enough to listen. Now they are burdened with friends and relatives that walk out of the room when they say they found out who are the liars.

Here are three things for starters: (1) no reform of the public schools, (2) no reform of the welfare system, and (3) no reform of labor market institutions that erect barriers between new entrants and good jobs.

How can I be so certain? Because the teachers unions, the welfare bureaucracy and all the other unions form the base of the Democratic Party. At least they are...
