Obozo claims to want to address "gun violence". OK, let's address that: All in favor of a minimum add-on of, say, 10 years to the sentence of any criminal convicted of committing any violent crime in which a gun is involved, please say aye! That is, in addition to any sentence they might receive for their actual crime, if a gun is involved IN ANY WAY - even if it's not fired - a MANDATORY additional 10 years - or 20 - is added to the sentence, no questions asked, no credit for time served, no option for liberal judges to reduce it in any way. Now THAT would reduce gun violence, but you'll never hear a libtard propose any such solution that might actually work, because it protects law-abiding gun owners! Not their agenda, folks, lies aside.

No. Gun Violence is NOT THE PROBLEM, the problem is violent CRIME. Murder is not nicer if it is committed with a chainsaw than a gun, robbing a gas station is not less illegal if it is done with a knife than a gun. Rape is not less of a crime if the victim is beaten into submission with a club rather than threatened with a gun. Make the punishment fit the crime instead of making up new crimes out of thin air.

well, what happens then is these gun-criminals decide to shoot as many people as they can then shoot themselves to avoid the long sentences. Also who pays to incarcerate law-breakers?

As for gun control, it is too late. There are so many guns out there, gun bans will not remove existing guns.

They've done something similar in Virginia, and called it "Project Exile". It immediately started to reduce violent crime in Virginia as it started to take the most violent thugs off of the street to be in prison for longer periods of time. The thugs were put in federal prison, away from their buddies in more local lockups. There are federal laws on the books already to get tough with violent criminals who abuse guns, as well as those crooks who supply guns to criminal violent criminals. Virginia started referring cases involving violent thugs caught with a gun, when they were prohibited by federal law from doing so, to the federal courts. But I'm guessing Obama would like to see that policy reversed. ...

... Will he be willing to spend federal dollars to keep violent thugs in federal penitentiaries? I have a sneaking suspicion that he would not be overjoyed about spending money for that program (Project Exile).

It seems as though real life examples of guns saving -- rather than taking -- innocent life go largely unreported (or flat-out ignored) in the mainstream media. Therefore, I have decided to post the following must-read story in its entirety (via Cameron Gray):

A woman hiding in her attic with children shot an intruder multiple times before fleeing to safety Friday.

The incident happened at a home on Henderson Ridge Lane in Loganville around 1 p.m. The woman was working in an upstairs office when she spotted a strange man outside a window, according to Walton County Sheriff Joe...
