In response to:

Is a Nuclear Deal With Iran Possible?

First, the IAEA caught Iran with a full set of bomb plans(working, tested bombs) from Pakistan, where they also got their other nuclear technology. They also have evidence that Iran has tested bomb components;the neutron initiator and implosion of dummy pits, both ONLY used for weapons,no peaceful applications.Iran has tested SCUD launches with HIGH altitude detonations, not useful for conventional warheads, but characteristic of a nuclear EMP attack. Iran has enriched to 20% in amounts FAR above what they need for their tiny medical reactor. I would NOT rely on US intel agencies under Comrade Hussein to be telling the truth about Iran not having a nuke weapons program.

Oh,and those SCUD launch tests were from containerships, that would allow Iran to launch from off the US coast. An EMP attack on the US would be disastrous for the US,killing many millions of our people, from starvation and disease. It would also neutralize the US,allowing the muslims freedom to do as they please in the ME arena.
Read One Second After by WIlliam Forstchen for an idea of the aftermath of an EMP attack on the US. It's chilling.

Thats bigotry talk Ryan. What has Israel done that is so stupid?

DUH,half of Iran is 7th century, they wouldn't even notice any EMP effect. Most of the time, they don't have electricity, even in the cities, they have rolling blackouts. They've learned to do without.
Plus, you cannot keep the EMP effect within the borders of a single nation. it would affect other nearby nations, perhaps even Russia, and they would consider that an act of war.
Lastly,Bush made a lot of effort to persuade Iran to not continue their weapons program, they offered Russian reactor fuel, all sorts of enticements. No takers.
When diplomacy doesn't work, then the last option is war.

Idiot;how big an area do you think a BMD site can cover? the US is a VERY large place.
We have two major oceans and the Gulf of Mexico from where an EMP launch could take place, outside the 200 mile ADZ.

Israel IS deploying it's own ABM defenses.
and Israel and it's leader is FAR smarter than you; you'd use an Ostrich defense.

Furthermore,Iran has VIOLATED the NPT treaty several times,by building secret nuclear facilities without IAEA involvement, knowledge,or mandated monitoring, and by not allowing IAEA inspectors into Parchin, where the bomb components were tested. Parchin has had TWO cleanups observed by satellites,Iran IS hiding something there.
One would have to be willfully blind or in denial to think that Iran is not working on nuclear weapons.
Weapons-Grade Stupid,in fact.

They have abided by the NPT, Jay. On the other hand, Israel isn't even a signatory to the NPT. What are they hiding at Dimona?

Whether you are simply brain dead to facts or simply lying I am not sure.
IsraelFirsterSecond Wrote: Oct 09, 2012 11:33 AM
There is no more proof Israel has a weapon than there is about Iran.
Jay Wye Wrote: Oct 09, 2012 11:51 AM
it's a flat out LIE that Iran has abided by the NPT.
they violated it just by building SECRET nuclear facilities without first telling the IAEA so they could install monitoring devices. Then they violated it by testing nuclear weapons components like neutron initiators and implosions of dummy pits at Parchin, which Iran has cleaned up TWICE and STILL refuses to allow IAEA inspectors in to go over the site.(another violation of the NPT)

Why do YOU lie?
In diplomacy, always leave your adversary an honorable avenue of retreat.

Fifty years ago this October, to resolve a Cuban missile crisis that had brought us to the brink of nuclear war, JFK did that.

He conveyed to Nikita Khrushchev, secretly, that if the Soviet Union pulled its nuclear missiles out of Cuba, the United States would soon after pull its Jupiter missiles out of Italy and Turkey.

Is the United States willing to allow Iran an honorable avenue of retreat, if it halts enrichment of uranium to 20 percent and permits intrusive inspections of all its nuclear facilities? Or are...
