If Zimmerman does have to go to court,then the Stand Your Ground law partially failed,as it was also intended that a person lawfully defending themselves NOT have to go to court and spend lots of money proving his innocence. There has to be REASONABLE evidence that the self-defense was not lawful for this to go to court,and that is NOT present. A REASONABLE person would look at the evidence and witness testimony,and conclude that Zimmerman was attacked,on the ground and helpless,unable to retreat(not that that is necessary),and in fear of "great bodily harm",as he DID suffer a serious head wound and a broken nose. the *burden of proof* is on the investigators and prosecutor to show that Zimmerman instigated the fight. They CAN'T.

People who are convinced that George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin for no good reason frequently say it's absurd to suggest that an unarmed 17-year-old could have posed a deadly threat to a 28-year-old man who outweighed him by 100 pounds. According to a story in Monday's New York Times, however, Zimmerman is only 20 pounds heavier than Martin, who was 4 inches taller.
