AK-47's sold in the US are all SEMI-auto,not machine guns or true assault rifles. No NEW full-auto firearms made after May 1986 can be sold to civilians. Only NFA-registered guns can be lawfully transferred to civilians,that supply is limited,few of them are available for transfer,and they're VERY expensive.And there's a lot of FEDGOV paperwork that must be completed before ATF approval is granted,along with a letter from your local LEO Chief.

Since NBC sportscaster Bob Costas went on his halftime anti-gun rant on Sunday using words written by Fox Sports Columnist Jason Whitlock, we’ve heard a lot from the media and from uniformed commentators about America’s “gun culture.” The fact is, America actually has two gun cultures and it is important to distinguish them from one another.
