ALL people try to pay the LEAST taxes they can manage. Otherwise,they would not itemize,they would not claim dependents,they would just add up their income,look up the total on the chart,and pay the full amount. Plus,government has FAR more overhead than any church. Most churches rely on volunteers to do many tasks,while FEDGOV hires employees and pays them great benefits. Then the overpaid FEDGOV employees are wasteful,because it's not their money.

you know, you made me think of something. Back when I was in college (I'm a teacher) we were taught how to order things to supply our classrooms and stretch the money etc. But the guy teaching the "economics" part told us to make sure we spent every cent...on something....'cause if you didn't spend it they'd cut your budget the following year. In other words Waste is better than saving!

A new study produced by the Chronicle of Philanthropy shows that 14 out of the top 20 states in charitable giving are red, or Republican states, while 12 of the bottom 15 are blue, or Democrat states.

“The nation's sharp political divide can provide a clue to fundraisers,” writes the Chronicle. “The eight states that ranked highest in The Chronicle's analysis voted for John McCain in the last presidential contest while the seven lowest-ranking states supported Barack Obama.”
