Your statement makes no sense. I'm also from Texas and have had a CHL, or Concealed Handgun License, since just a few months after inception. There is no teaching that using a weapon in self-defense is a crime. The user will go in front of a grand jury, granted, but that is no comparison with murder. And when the weapon user is no-billed, as is usual in a justified case of self-defense, there is no punishment. Look up Texas Law Shield.

Thanks, Jay. I'm down here in Texas, where we view self defense using deadly force the same way we view the death penalty for murder, that is, if you commit the crime, expect to suffer the consequences.
