Press on with the de-funding and split off from the Republican party, if they won't go along. There is no future battle. This is the war.

I'm feeling the same way these days. A lot of folks think splitting would be a stupid thing to do as they have perceived that it will split the Republican vote.

In my view, the Republican party has allowed itself to be marginalized to the point where they're highly unlikely to EVER have a truly viable candidate in the future. They'll lose with OR without us.

Two critical components to such a move would need to considered: Timing and PR/Media/Outreach. We need media most of all. If Ted Turner (blithering moron that he is) can start a news service, anyone can. A tough challenge will be marginalizing broadcast media, but with the convergence of communications technologies (internet, broadcast, and telecommunications) and the increasing ability of conservatives to manipulate these new tools, time is on our side.

We need to think like the left. Stay in it and focused for the long haul.
