A Russian, whose grandparents lived through the purges by Joseph Stalin in the 30's, said that they would lament about all of the terrible things that were happening in the country and then say "If only Comrade Stalin knew." implying that all of this was going on behind Stalin's back and that he would stop it if he learned of it. Little did they know that Comrade Stalin was signing the death lists of those chosen to be killed every night.
For another example of similar behavior read about the actions of FDR in the 30's. Obama is following his playbook.

The Clinton's were shameless in their use of the IRS to punish their political enemies but the media immediately leapfrogged back to the Nixon era to find comparable behavior.

If Kermit Gosnell had been caught performing these procedures on puppies or kittens he would have been dragged out of jail by a howling mob and strung up in the nearest tree. Human babies? No problem.
Only if you trust the government not to come along and steal your retirement funds ala Argentina.
I think that the IRA is really not all that it is cracked up to be. What it does is to convert all interest and dividends received over the years into ordinary income which is taxed at a much higher rate and when you reach 70 you are forced to start taking distributions whether you want to or not so the taxes can be collected. In addition, you have to eat any losses that you incur within the IRA; you have no ability to play losses against gains as you can in a taxable account. All in all I wonder if it is worth it.

Meanwhile the U.S. Supreme Court has enshrined into law the despicable Doctrine of Disparate Impact wherein every difference in outcome is automatically attributed to racism.

It will be impossible to get any control of the excessive spending by the Congress until we get rid of the insane nonsense of current services base line budgeting. The idea that last years spending constitutes a floor for this years spending plus an automatic annual increase is a politicians wet dream. Every year they get more to spend without having to vote for it, it's all built into the system. For public consumption they engage in phony debates over slight decreases in the rate of spending increase but overall the spending always goes up.
