Even my flamingly liberal friends know that's what liberals do to win elections. We don't win elections by ignoring the obvious. You can accumulate a lot of power in Washington DC if you are unaware...see McCain, Biden, and Patty Murray for details. But the independents are independent because they hate government and they think both parties are corrupt. Hence the whole independent thing. They then vote on who makes them feel the best about themselves if they thing both parties are equally corrupt. Politics is the only industry where is pays to deny reality...which is why everyone hates you.
