Can I point out something? Obama doesn't have 51 percent of the country. He had 51 percent of the electorate. There is about 100 to 150 million people difference and Obama's people are so motivated they'll vote 8 times to keep their $60,000 welfare coming. Also, you could be a racist if you think any City Political Machine maintains monolithic power without massive voter fraud and suppression. I give you Detroit. It's impossible.

Yes Jason, yes yes yes~ obama did NOT get the vote from the majority of Americans. He rec'd 61,000,000 =/- votes against Mitt Romney getting 59,000,000 +/- votes. and that does NOT equate out to a majority of Americans. It actually comes down to less than 20% of the American public voted for obama.

Oh Jason and by the way........that is NOT a mandate by any measure!
Democrats have said that that their priorities when it comes to a fiscal cliff deal are to raise more tax revenue and make the tax code more progressive.

Which is why it's odd to see them drawing a line in the sand on raising tax rates.

Raising marginal income tax rates is one of the most economically harmful ways to raise taxes. (The only provisions of the tax code that are more damaging are the corporate income tax and taxes on savings and investments.) Perhaps the only explanation is that Democrats don't actually care about...
