Forest fires in Colorado were cause more by government incompetence and wind power. What makes trees unhealthy? Bugs, what eats bugs? Birds. What happens when you take away birds because they are being slaughtered by Wind Power? The ecosystem breaks down...something liberals pretend to love. Also, what happens when land isnt' used. It gets overgrown. This wouldn't happen if the land was own by someone competent. Unfortunately, for Colorado, the Fed government controlled the land. They care nothing for the trees or the animals and certainly not their own people so they let it get overgrown and burnt all of the animals they were "protect" to death.

actually jason, the bugs attack unhealthy trees. The monocultures we have caused are one of the problems with unhealthy species.
Most of the rest of your comments are true enough.

I thought an over abundance of bugs causes more since the bugs use the dead wood. I thought that's the reason you move deadwood away from healthy stuff?

Enivornmentalists might be the most retarded people on the planet. But if I was an animal would I chose to be displaced or burnt in a heinous fiery death?

Ummmm, liberals could you tell me the answer? You guys claim to speak to the animals, nature, and Earth?

I'm not an eco-freak by any means but wind turbines kill enough birds to cause the insect population to increase enough to cause mass tree kill which leads to forest fires? Stretchy comic heroes are impressed by that.
I think the fires are natural, and are made worse by a no burn policy that puts out small fires year after year allowing underbrush to grow out of control.

I'm proposing a bold conservation program to involve every state, county, and city and every average American in our energy battle. This effort will permit you to build conservation into your homes and your lives at a cost you can afford. I ask Congress to give me authority for mandatory conservation and for standby gasoline rationing. To further conserve energy, I'm proposing tonight an extra ten billion dollars over the next decade to strengthen our public transportation systems. And I'm asking you for your good and for your nation's security to take no unnecessary trips, to use carpools or public...
