The Myth of Obama's "Bipartisanship"

Jane Wu Wrote: Feb 05, 2010 12:29 AM
I'm not sure what color the sky is in Carol's world, but sharing the burden is PRECISELY what bipartisanship means. Is it her contention that Republicans should only participate in bipartisan when it suits them politically? Wow. This actually says more about Carol and the state of the minority party's inability to lead than it does about the realities of the Obama administration trying to run a nation by spreading the responsibilities around. Instead of cooperation - which is what the majority of Americans vote for - we got leadership trying to deal with a bunch of grudge-holding, responsibility-shirking obstructionists.
Because, face it, the latest WaPo polls shows that 2/3 are saying to pass comprehensive reform. The fact that the GOP and blue dogs won't allow that speaks more to the craven sell-outs who make up ALL of the GOP than it says about anything Obama has tried to do to accommodate hurting Americans.

Voting for a Republican at this time in history is the same as voting for stagnation and hate. Such a bad combination.

John Edwards Engaged?

Here's the rub for you guys - Edwards didn't win. He's been out of the picture for two years. How's it going with that Palin situation, though? She's still out there embarrassing the country and rallying her base on nincompoops while maintaining her status as quitter, sociopathic and ethically challenged, hypocritical mother who calls her baby 'retard' in private, but gripes at public figures (but only if democrat) for using the same word in an unrelated way - while she uses with impunity aimed at her son.

And let's not even BEGIN to talk about the other Republican hopefuls, Ensign and Sanford. You know - the "promise keepers" who couldn't keep their 'promises' in their pants.

You can't be more ignorant, can you? Hopeless.
Nope. Just comparing your "values" towards those outside your Party to the look-the-other-way 'values' we see you uphold within your Party time and time again. If you think that this man will win as a result of this revelation, you might be a bit too impressionistic because of your own Party's ability to rally around scandal and controversy denial.

How hard did you guys push back on the Foley scandal? And Abramoff? Let's not forget that Jack Ryan stepped down on his own. DeLay, not so much. Your sick puppies manage prime spots on FNC and as Party leaders when disgraced, with nary a moment's atonement or mention of honest regret.
They only surface for the ethically-challenged who are OUTSIDE their Party! Meanwhile, the likes of Ensign, Vitter, Gingrich, Palin, Limbaugh -- all denizens of Shame -- remain firmly locked in to the GOP embrace of "look the other way".

Can't come soon enough. But in the meantime, it never hurts to continue to show the GOP as empty-handed obstructionist buffoons. Not only do they have NO realistic or even remotely viable alternatives to their obstructionism, but they also don't know how to deal with reason and intelligent discourse. Putting this parade of clowns in the national spotlight to bluster and blather witlessly while the President shoots down their every lame talking point lie is priceless --- and keeps the focus on just what voting republican spells to the nation at large. In case you don't GET what that spells, I'll help you out:

Or Vitter. Or Craig, right? Normally, disgraced and contemptible leaders are either forced to step down or do so willingly -- except if you're a sanctimonious hypocritical Republican, that is. "Promise Keepers" - Republican leaders who claim to be "committed to practicing spiritual, moral, ethical, and sexual purity" --like Ensign and Sanford [haha, joke's on you] are holier than thou because they believe God has granted them immunity from responsible behavior and recourse.

Why Dig Into Debt When You Can Soar?

"Largest one-time debt increase", eh? And this Republican said that with a straight face.

I'm laughing because in the scheme of things, $1.9 Trillion that is needed to dig us out of the economic hole Bush dumped us in is dwarfed by the "largest" EVER debt our country has faced at the hands of Bush and McCarthy Republicans.
