is what this is. It's the Saul Alinsky school of politics or thinking - overwhelm and confuse the masses. Well, it's not working so well because this President is the most inexperienced ever. As one of my teachers once told a failed cheater, "You don't even know how to cheat well!" And so here we are. The complaint during the compaign was that Sarah Palin was inexperienced, but at least she had a couple years under her belt as an elected official on the local and state level. This guy is totally lost. He was groomed by liberals and has spent most of his political career campaigning and now it shows. Good article, Mr. Barone.
Mr. Medved, wonderful article. And I agree that capitalism is not perfect, it sure beats all the other systems. If it's so horrible, how did this country become so great? That's what I don't understand about liberals, non-conformists, terrorists, anti-capitalists, etc. - why do they hate it so much? If capitalism topples, where will the money come from to line their own pockets? Do they want us back in the dark ages? Maybe it's a personal thing - they feel inadequate to make it in the system? I just don't get it.

A Minimum Wage Equals Minimum Jobs

the economy. Are you kidding me?! If businesses have to pay employees more, they have to have bring in more money, no? If I have a car washing service, for example, and I have to pay 2 people $10 an hour, I'm going to have to charge my customers accordingly. And if I want to make a profit, pay insurance, upgrade my facilities, that will increase the cost also. That means those customers will need a raise also to keep up with increasing costs for themselves. I'm no economist, but it's plain and simple to me that the minimum wage does affect everyone and every business. We need less government intervention, not more. And where does it say that Congress or any administration should be dictating what happens with our economy anyway?...

Exploiting Public Ignorance

I say for every elected official, including dog catcher, clerks, etc. Some of these people are so entrenched, they are mini-monarchies. Our founding fathers maybe were hoping people would have common sense and use self-restraint to protect this country, but now we have power-hungry monsters running the place. others adjectives include arrogant, selfish, ego-maniacal, etc. etc.
Spread the blame around - the housing fiasco started on dem watch - and a couple of them took advantage of the situation as payback - ever hear of chris dodd (CT)?. No politician is innocent in any of this except for those who voted against the legislation. And piling on more by this adminstration isn't going to help. The government should not be involved in free enterprise (i.e., auto companies, banking industry, insurance, etc.). Hasn't anything been learned from the failure of such activities in Russia? I just don't get how you want the govt to run more and more enterprises! It will be one big monopoly soon. Frightening to say the least! NO MORE GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION!!!
are running up the cost of healthcare. That's what caught my eye in the article. What we need is reform for that. If the whole issue is affordable care, why doesn't BHO mention how all these lawsuits have run up costs?? Doctors, hospitals, pharma companies all have to pay exorbitant amounts of malpractice insurance and pay all kinds of damages. Some are likely fair, but I fear most of the are not. And since most of the elected members of Congress are lawyers, they don't want to kill the sacred cow that made them rich. This whole Obamacare deal is all a ploy to take away control from the people and push abortion and euthansia. I really feel that's the end result they want! SO NO MORE GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION! Or the USA will be...
The freedoms we're talking about aren't happening minute by minute but they will happen over time. Do you want the govt to dictate what kind of car you can drive, what kind of light bulbs to use in your home, what doctor you can see - if any - for your ailment - there will be a panel to decide that, whether or not you want to join a union, to let you know if your underage daughter is having an abortion, if you can send your child to a private school, and on and on. Sure, people want the govt to help, but where does it stop? Once you start taking all this money and all this help, you lose your autonomy. They will do all the thinking for you. Not for me and mine, that's for sure. Long live the Republic!! God save us all if BOH gets...

You Aren't Bipolar, You're Just a Jerk!

I am guilty of being self-absorbed and getting on the pity pot too, but once I start the same process of talking to others and asking them how they feel, I feel better. I fell that pain is not a bad thing necessarily - mental or physical. Everyone thinks they have to feel great all the time and run to the drugstore to mask the pain or the feelings. Pain helps to build us into who we are. Now, I don't mean to dismiss severe physical pain that some people have to live with, but time and time again I see stories of how they even learn to live with it. Pain is not all bad - labor pains bring us babies, don't they? And they are not bad things! :)

Abortion Is Not Health Care

Let's say Obamacare becomes reality (scary), and you live to be 80 (not sure how old you are now). Do you want to be beholden to the government for any medication you might need? Or are you willing to be told, "You're too old. Go away and die."? With euthanasia and abortion, your so called "messiah" and his cronies will have control of life - from womb to tomb - if they let certain groups even have children. Doesn't that scare you? I would rather stick with the current system than have to live life with that scenario. 45 million my eye! Your "messiah" should be more honest and break down those numbers correctly. Open up your eyes!

Bad Days in Obamaville

You are leaning a "leetle" too far to the left to be fair because of your petty attack of Mrs. Palin. And may I remind you that your "messiah" can't operate with his teleprompter? You need to check out his bloopers real from the campaign. Some doozies there for you to ponder. Your "messiah" is not as perfect as you hope. As for the alternative health plan, it's obvious - "NO GOVT INTERVENTION" - everything the bureaucracy gets its hands on fails: Medicare, Social Security, Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, etc. Can't wait to see how the destroy the auto companies. You need to look past your hatred of all things conservative and past your ideology and look for what's best for the country - BHO is not it. He's destroying our Republic and our...
