Mr. Giles, good question. I can only speculate on what I think underlies the feminist agenda. I had read an historical account on the start of the feminist movement. I read that it was started by the progressives as part of an agenda to break up the family unit. Tell women that they are not real women if they sit home and raise children. They must also have a career, become a "Super Mom." Another part of the progressive agenda was to decrease the population. What better than to promote abortions. This is where pro-choice came into play. The next part was to have both parents working and the progressives would "educate" the children. As we see today how it has evolved in what has been transpiring in schools today with the...

Politics: The Art of the Unbelievable

Axelrod had said on FoxNews Chicago in 2009 that Obama had talked to Blago about his Senate seat: Axelrod said, “I know he’s talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them.” Fitzgerald and the Judge had blocked admitting Obama's deposition and most of the tapes at Blago's trial. Blago decided not to testify after they surprised his brother Robert with an incriminating tape when grilled by the Prosecution. So Blago's attorneys did not want him receiving the same fate as his brother. Also, I remember reading when Obama was President-Elect that he went to Chicago for an event and was scheduled to meet with Blago in person. Blago had it on the...
There may be method to their madness of the "rapid firing" of Sherrod. The following excerpts are from the Washington Examiner: "Ms. Sherrod's previous background, the circumstances surrounding her hiring, and the USDA's agenda may all play a part in explaining her sudden departure from the agency. These matters have not received much scrutiny to this point. An announcement of Ms. Sherrod's July 2009 appointment to her USDA position at ruraldevelopment.org gives off quite a few clues: RDLN Graduate and Board Vice Chair Shirley Sherrod was appointed Georgia Director for Rural Development by Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack on July 25. Only days earlier, she learned that New Communities, a group she founded with her husband and...

The 'Elusive' Truth About Kagan

I think what someone asked me the other day sums up Elena Kagan. I was listening to a soundbite of Kagan on the radio and my friend came in and asked, "Is that Sotomayor?" Kagan is a Sotomayor clone. They have the same cadence and the same pat non-answers. I think Obama has chosen women as nominees to the Supreme Court because he knows the Republicans would be villified if they were combative with the female nominees. Obama would then play these poor, innocent women as victims of Republican venom. The Republicans know that. Therefore, the exchange is less intensive than if the nominees were men. There's method to his madness.
Harold Johnson won a primary run-off against Tim D'Annunzio this month. Johnson won because he ran a smear campaign against D'Annunzio. D'Annunzio won the original Primary in May against Johnson and 2 other candidates with 38% of the vote, with more than a 1000 votes than Johnson. North Carolina requires a candidate must receive 40% of the vote to win the nomination. So on June 22nd there was a run-off election. D'Annunzio had made public last year, before he ran for office, that he had a troubled youth and other missteps in his past. But he had turned his life around many years ago and should have been judged on the man he is today. I think the GOP was stunned that D'Annunzio won the Primary in May. Johnson was backed by...

Salt Tyrants

I read an article by a physician who stated that the preference of salt in foods is an acquired taste.

He also wrote that if salt is removed from processed foods or in restaurant fare, then people would only reach for the salt shaker.

If the FDA implements salt restrictions I will then invest in Morton Salt stocks.

Paul Ryan vs. Barack Obama

My take is that Obama has created this Commission to hide behind when the Democratic Members' recommend tax increases.

He will accept the Democratic members' recommendations and implement these tax increases and then blame it on the Commission.

Unfortunately, I think the Republicans on the Commission will just be potted plants who will not have their voices heard.

Obama will manipulate the Republicans' recommendations just as he did at the Health Care Summit.

This was my comment yesterday on another TH column about Financial Reform:

"The Financial Reform Bill, while giving Obama the powers of a King, contains no Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae restraints (hmmmmm) and comes out on the heels of the SEC announcement of an investigation of GoldmanSachs. Perfect timing.

Not only are many former administrators from Goldman Sachs' in Obama's Administration, Goldman Sachs is also a major contributor to Obama's campaign and most of the Democrats.

Obama is using "financial reform" as a ruse to shame Republicans into supporting this detrimental bill.

McConnell says he wants the $50 billion bailout and regulation on derivatives out of the bill. But what about regulating...

Obama's Oscar

I think Obama's SOTU comment referring to the recent Supreme Court decision on political ads by corporations, was to intimidate SCOTUS to refrain from future decisions not in keeping with his liberal agenda.

Perhaps to "encourage" a favorable ruling from SCOTUS on the Illinois gun ban lawsuit currently pending a Supreme Court decision?

I appears all Obama's prepared speeches are crafted to, in one way or another, villify/isolate someone or some entity, to promote a favorable outcome towards implementing his socialist agenda.

Thanks Michelle for reminding people of McCain's questionable stances on issues that impact Americans.

Although he is now "walking the line," trying hard to convince voters that he really is a true conservative, unfortunately for him, we have a memory.

If he wins the Primary and in November, we will have another 6 years of the same old aisle crosser. Only this time the stakes will be much higher for America.

But unfortunately if he wins the Primary we will have no recourse but to vote for him in November. The alternative is not an option.
