Ok, everybody, I'm just gonna step in here for a second. First of all, I would like to point out that I am pro-life and would not at all want taxpayer money to support it. However, taxpayer money does NOT support abortion in the new health care plan. Yes, the government pays for it. But the government gets the money from private subsidies who pool their money to donate it for that specific purpose and (if they keep the public option) from insurance premiums. Meaning the insurance premiums paid by people who opt to have the procedure covered in their own plan. The average taxpayer will not be funding abortions. While I disagree with abortion, it is legal and as such the government has to make a provision for it. That's just what...

I'm not getting into the debate on whether or not the bill should pass or what problems there would be. Just pointing out that the claim that taxpayers like you and me will be paying for abortion is false, and everyone should stop arguing about it.
