Sick and Tired of the Middle East

Other than losing billions of dollars in trade and tourism from closing our borders for 72 hrs. what would be the benefit of doing so?
Too true. For the democrat: Forcing the Church to purchase contraception (and abortifacients in the near future) for it's employees is protecting women's health. Scrutiny of honor killings in the Muslim community is violating their civil rights.
What? Are you insane?!? Increasing production of fossil fuel until we're not dependant on the whims of despotic regimes could make liberal groveling and kowtowing to said despots unnecessary! Dues paying civil servants at the State Dept. have built their entire careers around making sniveling apologies to them. America negotiating from a position of strength violates every tenet of transnationalism! No, instead we should invest billions of dollars in impractical energy sources to replace our already existent efficient energy sources. Then regulate our existing energy producers to the point where only the affluent can afford to heat their homes in winter and cool them in the summer. That will show those scumsucking conservatives how to...
Sorry, I'm agnostic, so I tend to define left-right politics in economic terms not social ones. State managed economies vs. free market capitalism. Religious devotion and strong sense of national identity can be found all points of the political spectrum. Fortunately, western Christianity favors the free market by separating the concept of spiritual morality from secular governance. In the Middle East, the line between spiritual and secular is thin and thus their nations are brutal cesspools controlled by their religion. Muslims are at least as devout as christians in this country but their societies are strictly monitored by their governments making them politically and economically left.
Deep in the psyche of progressives is a vision of their utopia that mimics the one described in Asimov's "Caves of Steel". Resources managed by the government, everyone using public transportation, and most importantly, every working prole neurotically afraid of leaving their urban cocoon. Liberals hate the automobile because it makes this vision impossible. Automobiles allows the common man to live where he chooses, work where chooses, and shop where he chooses. Such freedom, to them, is intolerable. Democrats seized control of the cities by the middle of the last century. Because of the car, people left their urban feifdoms. moved to the suburbs, and (adding insult to injury) became a right of center nation.
A cognitively impaired voter. Like most Dems.

Wouldn't mind a Romney/Gingrich ticket. VP candidates generally play the role of attack dog and Gengrich is very good at attacking Obama's positions. As a bonus, the VP debates pitting the intellects of Sheriff Joe vs. Newt would be one of the most comical mismatches of all time.
Wonder what it's called in Spain? I'm guessing "Pinto". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT0J0rcJTLo
