Head Start has no lasting improvements in students. Once the child gets to 3rd/4th grade, they show no improvement over students that were in the same situation that did not attend Head Start. I love how our Head Start program has used valuble class time to show R rated movies to the preschoolers.
The section on expanding government funding for pre-K schooling programs around the country took up only a few minutes of President Obama's State of the Union address, but is heavily emphasized by the White House.
