Thomas Sowell wrote an excellent article on that. The safer they make cars, the more risks people take. If govt regs made cars so much safer over the years, why have highway deaths stayed consistent the last 30 years? If you want safer drivers, cars should be made with a sharp spike sticking out of the steering collum. People would slow down!
