Let us not forget that for a long, long time that the so-called "Food pyramid" charts have already been heavily in favor of grains more than any other type of food...The very same high-starch kind of foods that may be a factor in today's "obesity problem" perhaps? Food that are high in starch are usually cheaper to buy & more filling than most other kinds of foods, but they also go to fat very quickly.

President Obama’s legacy may be that he successfully forced schoolchildren to eat less meat and more vegetables.

The school lunch regulations championed by his administration, and in particular First Lady Michelle Obama, take effect next month and they have schools and parents scrambling.
