We don't have to "round them all up". This is a red herring. Simply remove the incentives for them to come here (jobs & government benefits) and most will go home the same way they got here.....on their own.

Ironic that you are the one who is simplifying things. The point to this article was not at all "more guns". The point was that existing gun laws did absolutely nothing to prevent these two from immegally using guns.

Where exactly do you see us arguing for "more" guns? Why don't you shed the sarcasm and pose a reasoned argument on how more gun laws would have prevented this?

Your scenario doesn't apply to Adams' argument as he clearly references "First degree rape" in the article. Look up the definition and you'll see it is entirely different from your scenario.
For those of you who keep claiming that "nobody is trying to take your guns", I'd ask you to educate yourselves on the subject before you lecture us. In particular, consider the following questions before you repeat that claim If nobody is trying to take our guns: - why were handguns banned in Chicago? (I thought they only wanted a/w's) - why were handguns banned in DC? - why has the left argued for so long that the 2nd Amendment was intended for militia's, not individuals? (This was actually argued to the Supreme Court) - why are politicians like Diane Feinstein on record saying that if they had the voted they would ban all private firearms? The list goes on.
Raul, it isn't a prefer t world, and the fact is that there's no law you can pass that will guarantee your safety. If however, you want to do something that may actually prevent these acts to at least some degree, stop declaring schools gun free zones. Allow responsible teachers to carry concealed if they wish.

And YOU missed the point of the article. Ann didn't state the the rate was up. She didn't even start the conversation. Bloomberg did. Even if the rate has declined, that doesn't mean that we should stop trying to reduce it even further. Particularly given the devastating consequences to the rest of society.
Steve- I'm sure if some conservative entertainer spoke of you liberals in the manner described above, you'd rush right out to see their movie, right?
It's not simply a matter of disagreeing with your politics. Many of these people HATE you and call you a racist and other insults.
You're a teacher, and this is your rebuttal? Wow....just...wow.
How about starting with the kids whose own parents recognize are dangerous and are desperately trying to have them committed? Or the obviously seriously unstable people we encounter on the streets arguing with themselves and strangers alike. Your suggestion that no lines can be drawn between someone with ADD and a phsycopath are absurd.
