We were bombing the hell out of North Viet Nam and it was working until the protesters got Nixon to stop it. Should have bombed Haiphong long before we did. Also invading the North would probably have helped tremendously. They were always afraid China would join in if they did. Just like all the places around Afghanistan that they run back across the border. Like Sun said, if you are going to fight a war, fight it all out, or forget about it.
