if being a "Conservative" was what it used to mean -- more like William Buckley or Reagan. Today's conservatives are potty-mouth bullying misfits whose only joy in life is to see Obama fail. The Olympics is a perfect example. Whether the U.S. got the games or not in 2016 wasn't crucial to anything -- the U.S. has hosted plenty of times before and will certainly host in the future. Obama made a bid for it just like any other president. Chicago wasn't chosen and the general consensus was that South America had never hosted the Olympics before, and now it was their turn.

High Ratings mean that people are watching. The more people that watch the more money Faux News can get from advertisers. So of course they're going to keep up with what they've been doing - why would they do otherwise?

But that has nothing to do with the truth. As I've mentioned before and as most people have mentioned -- Fox News is entertaiment -- it's just like any other "Reality" show that pretends that stuff is really happening (in a neat 60 minute package)

Obama is right in not losing sleep over it. You've really got to be brain-dead if you think these commentators focus on "The Truth" -- it's got nothing to do with truth -- it's whining and wailing so you get ratings.

I know the conservatives would like to look at this as a loss, but this is not exactly a defining moment in a presidency-- the US bids for the Games almost every time there is a bidding --winter and summer. Reagan bid, both Bushes bid and were rejected-- it's not a do or die event for the US. I don't think Obama's visit mattered to the IOC that much -- they wanted South American because it would be a first for them.
