You may say you are a second ammendment advocate but you have shown your ignorance about firearms. A semi automatic rifle, handgun, etc does not fire multiple rounds a second. They fire 1 round every time you pull the trigger. Most people could not fire more than one round per second no matter how hard they tried. The types of weapons that fire "that many rounds per second" as you described are automatic (as opposed to semi-automatic) weapons and there is already a ban on them. And I also love how you put up a total straw man in your nuclear bomb bit. Nice try. Many people claim to be "pro-guns" or "pro-life" to try to add faux legitimacy to their arguments but their facades are usually as easy to see through as yours.
When you are out of valid arguements all you have left is convincing yourself that those you are arguing with are not worthy of your consideration. Instead of calling people paranoid freaks come up with a coherent argument (as oppposed to the ones you previously posted) in support of your position.
Your anecdote about your daughter and her husband making traffic stops in a bad part of town is a complete non-sequetor to your overall assertion that semi-automatic firearms should be banned. Someone doesn't need a semi-automatic to shoot a cop at point blank from their driver's side window during a traffic stop. Additionally, do you really think that someone who is capable of shooting a cop during a ruitine traffic stop is going to be disuaded by the fact that they aren't legally allowed to own a particualar firearm? It might feel good to pretend that it is possible to magically create a world where there are no firearms but the fact is that there are over 300 million firearms in America as we speak and banning them guarantees that...
People of Costas' ilk are either too PC or lack the intellectual honesty to state the real problem. The article costas read stated that if Belcher had not owned a gun he and his girlfriend would still be alive. I believe a more accurate and helpful statement would have been that if Belcher had not grown up without a father present he and his girlfriend would still be alive.
