You seem to have the mistaken belief that all people of the 60's and 70's were hippies. NOT SO! The hippies had no love for more laws that had no victims. I doubt seriously that your assertion "...these are the very same people writing legislation and voting for these laws." has any basis in fact or even statistical inference. Blame the people that are actually passing the lwas and the voters that put them there, not the bogey men that those same people claim to exist to deflect their ownership of and responsibility for the situation. I agree with your belief of hypocrites in power.

Quit drinking the Kool-ade. Hippies are not the problem. That is just some of the propaganda spewed by MSM. The problem is ignorant, lazy, voters that vote in radical liberal/progressives and look the other way as our courts, our schools, our institutions, are systematically degraded. Hippies never wanted war. They didn't want an explosion of laws that slowly strangle our freedoms and out economy. They just wanted to be left alone by the government while they peacefully lived their lives. They are not to blame for the decay of morals even though they get the blame. With freedom comes responsibility. It is the lack of responsibility in TODAY's society that is to blame not teens and young adults behavior 50 years ago..
