While I totally agree that Obummer is a liar and a poker player, one doesn't have to be good at either to fool the average, ignorant American voter.

That includes teachers' unions.

I live in Colorado's CD-7. I know the voters in CD-7. Believe me, the "Obama-effect" as described by Jack Napier will not apply here. The race is close in the polls simply because the voter mix is very even. The more that voters learn about Ed "Pelosi-mutter" (he voted for every big spending bill in the 111th Congress and, overall, with San Fran Nan over 98% of the time), the better Ryan's chances will be. If anything hurts Ryan's chances, it will be the mess that the GOP has made of the governor's race here in Colorado. It could have a negative effect in downstream races, but that remains to be seen.

If you are among those Independent voters who pulled the lever for Obama and a Democratic Congress in 2008 and now regret it, I hold no pity. If you are one of those who also subsequently lost a job, good!! If you lost your job and contracted swine flu, all the better.

Maybe those lessons will teach you to raise your political IQ over 80 before entering the voting booth next year.

It looks more and more like a big GOP victory in 2010, but what happens then? It will be up to the tea partiers to hold the new congress members' feet to the fire, and continue to carry the battle forward. Obama should not be allowed to achieve any success whatsoever, and he should spend the last two years of his term totally ineffectual and isolated. Left to their own devices, however,it is doubtful that congressional Republicans would carry on with the same dedication and devotion to conservative principles that we have seen for the last six months. I hope they prove me wrong.
