The Obama Culture Arrives

As I wrote below, it appears that conservatives are required to check their sense of humor into storage when they enter the conservative bubble. It gets placed on a shelf next to their sense of logic and their connection to facts. You hang on every word Fox News utters but deplore what Fox Entertainment does in the next breath. Here's a hint: they are run by the same people.

Ummm, no they're not. That's a common misunderstanding on the left. News and Entertainment are two entirely separate divisions.

A salient point. One that I have observed for years. I too have been dismayed at how willfully ignorant "conservatives" in this country choose to remain about this. Rupert Murdoch is portrayed as "conservative?!" Seriously?

And ok, so even if you can accept that conservatives can somehow disconnect "liberal" FOX entertainment from "conservative" FOX News, how do they NOT see the glaring contradiction with all the soft core porn on their news channel? do they actually believe it is just the female hosts media talents that landed them the job?? LMAO!! Their show "The Five" is just one example where a female in an ultra short skirt/dress is strategically placed to tease.

Your little generalities are getting tiresome. If you have no substance, go somewhere else. Please. We'll hold no grudge if you do. If you have something substantive t contribute -even if it's socialistic, nihilistic garbage - then we'll have a debate. But really, Jack, there are too many other sites out there for you to go to that will just revel in your unsubstantiated flamethrowing verbal debris. Again, might I suggest cnn.com, MoveOn.org, or HuffPo.

The Marx Brothers were funny, Monty Python was funny, MST3K was funny. Maher, Arnold, and their ilk--I don't think so.

Family Guy is indeed hilarious. One can tell by the number of people who watch it and laugh. SO is South Park.

By this measure, then Rush is a genius. Right? I mean, 20 million people a day listen to him. Bill O'Reilly has the highest rated cable news show on TV. Therefore, he is right and the Left is wrong. Am I correct?
Jack2894 Wrote: Dec 28, 2012 1:18 PM
What would prompt you to compare hilarity with genius? There is no necessary connection. Given his ratings, one cannot say that Rush Limbaugh is not amusing or engaging, now can you? There is much to criticize, but one can't deny he appeals to a certain group. Same with O'Reilly.

Lots of people listen to rap, while relatively few enjoy Beethoven, Bach and Handel. Reality TV thrives. Bad taste is in no danger of dying out in this world...I'm not impressed by mere numbers.

Oh, aren't liberals soooo HILARIOUS ? ? ?
Ken6226 Wrote: Dec 28, 2012 1:08 PM
Yep, their gun control laws in Chicago have resulted in a record murder rate. Only a liberal would call that "progress".
Carl469 Wrote: Dec 28, 2012 1:23 PM
Here's what I call progress: Reduce the number of blacks in Chicago. Because it's blacks who are doing almost of the killing. They have uncontrollable tempers. Their conflict resolution skills are nil. Barring a reduction in their numbers, I see more horrible bloodshed ahead.
The year 2012 was a depressing time for people who are already pessimistic about the state of our common culture. Conversely, the re-election of Barack Obama, in large measure made possible by the heavy financial support of Hollywood, projects the optimism of the cultural Left. They anticipate increased blue-state voting patterns in favor of gay "marriage," legalized pot, gun regulations, and what next? Legalized prostitution? Euthanasia subsidized by Obamacare?

So let's just line up the cultural winners of Obama's America, where the only impediments to progress are those who believe in religion, manners and "family values."

Winner: Seth...
