Typically, the right wing blather machine cranks up whenever the President, or anyone else for that matter, actually makes sense. If you had a son (I have 4) and you did NOT think seriously about whether he should play football, you would be a lousy parent. CET is no joke and ignoring the risk isn't macho, its just ignorance in cleats.

In an interview with major Democrat donor and magazine owner Chris Hughes, President Obama said "I'm a big football fan," but "if I had a son, I'd have to think long and hard before I let him play football."

President Obama was referring to the emerging consensus that the injuries, and in particular head injuries, sustained while playing football can have serious health effects. Actual NFL players, however, don't agree with the President's characterization of their sport as too dangerous to play.
