One need only look at two data points to recognize the overtly anti-intellectual, anti-rational stance of the conservative world. Over 50% of conservatives think the world is less than 10,000 years old and over 50% of conservatives think Barack Obama was not born in America.

Jack, prove to me that the Universe was not created 5 minutes ago.

Take a moment and think before you spout mindless insults.

It cannot be proved. It's a matter of faith.

what do you mean by faith?

Jac,k,
Do you simply make up your data as does Charles Rangle or do you source it from a comic book ?

I've seen surveys about the Obama-is-a-Muslim thing. I think one I saw said about 30% believe it, which is not 50% but it's still remarkable.

A couple of amazing thing about that "stat": First of all the survey to which you are referring did not specify the political ideology of those who believe "Obama-is-a-Muslim." Second, it's amazing that Obama and his policies leave the issue in such doubt that so many Americans do not know what religion our President embraces.

or where he was born. Joe Arpaio and a team of forensic specialist have proved the 'long form birth certificate' released in April 2011, along with the selective service registration card, are FRAUDULENT.... Kool aid-drinking Jack has never ONCE checked out the empirical evidence Arpaio collected in his investigation...typical lefty response..sneer and ignore... shallow and DISHONEST people...

LOL. Jack, you confirm the truth in Prager's column by pulling bogus stats out of the home of your small progressive brain.

Progressives live in their own little fantasy world.

ACtually, a Pew poll in 2005 indicated that as many as 70% of self described conservatives believed in the young earth creation model.

Here's a link to a poll indicating 51% of Republicans think Obama was born elsewhere. http://washingtonindependent.com/105581/poll-51-percent-of-republicans-think-obama-was-not-born-in-u-s

The fantasy world is the one conservatives inhabit, where the President is a Kenyan, the Earth is 10000 years old, and evolution is just a wild eyed guess.

Jack:

Let's see you prove otherwise.

Apparently, many liberals were disappointed in the administration’s performance before the Supreme Court. They felt that the government’s lawyer, Solicitor General Donald Verrilli, did not respond effectively to the challenges of some of the conservative justices.

The editor of Commentary, John Podhoretz, offered an explanation on his magazine’s blog. “American liberals,” he wrote, “know their own language, but they don’t know the language of their ideological and partisan opposite numbers. ... Conservatives speak liberal, but for liberals in the United States, conservatism might as well be Esperanto.”

I have argued this point for many years. In my book to be published...
