Is Progressivism the New Communism?

Jack1373 Wrote: Apr 19, 2012 11:07 AM
Point about McCarthy: His method and procedures were heavy handed and maybe his numbers were not solid, but in the end McCarthy was right. There were Communists in out government. You would be very naive to think otherwise, expecially in th 1950"s. Want to be an ostrich with your head in the sand? Then there are no traitors in the CIA, FBI or Military. There are no terrorists in the USA from the Middle East and there are no home grown terrorists either. Take off the rose colored glasses. There are alot of countries that would like to see America fail; see freedom fail. Vigilance!
For those moderate Muslims that are peace loving and law abiding citizens and fear retaliation for the terroristic acts of Islamo-facists, I suggest they begin to voice their peace loving and law abiding opinions and stand up against the radicals that exist in their religion.

O’Reilly, Gas Prices and Reality

Jack1373 Wrote: Feb 29, 2012 11:56 AM
Someone explain to me why gas prices are so QUICK to rise with bad news, but re so SLOW to drop when the bad news goes away and there is good news. North Korean just announced they are giving up their plans for a nuclear bomb and we are sending massive amounts of food for the general populace ( I hope they get it). Will oil prices go down? When will gas prices go down? WAIT, will food prices go up now tht we are GIVING North Korea massive a\mounts of food? I am on the conservative side of the aile, but I still question Limbaugh on the “poor” oil companies working with a 9% profit margin and with that make RECORD TENS OF BILLIONS of dollars. What gives? So it is good to sell gas overseas, but how do we make our gas prices come down to...

Prohibition

What does it say about society when we decriminalize drugs (MJ, coke, pills, etc.) and crime goes down? Does the liberal use of drugs make us a better society or does it weaken us? It is natural to eat and drink. Alcohol in moderation is fine. Fast or fatty foods in moderation are ok. I suppose if we can find a way for the weaker people (addicts) to be cared that the fall off of crime might balance the cost of medical attention. However, we are already seeing an increase in governmental control over what we eat; like less salt and fat. Will McDonald’s go black market. Emphatically, no But what will the groups that make money over the illegal sale of drugs do when their income sources dry up. What will they get into: prostitution? OK...
You Betcha. Just as we blamed Carter for the failure in the botched attempt to rescue the Irranian hostages! It is not the players, but the play or plan, little trianing and poor equipment that caused the failure and deaths of brave Americans! There were too many different parts to co-ordinate and too little time. Reagan did it with attitude and words backed with past follow through of his words.
1. The American Revolution was nation building. 2. We all have the same chance to "corporately enslave" How many jobs has BHO really created? 3. Just as you wonder how many criminals may have been aborted, how many Einstein’s did you kill? If you want control over your body choose a condom. Abortion as a condom should be criminal 4. There are plenty of rich folk that have donated obscene amounts of money and performed many good deeds. When last did a poor person create a job? Oh, yeah the Welfare bureaucrats, soup kitchens and flop houses.

Don't Mess With Texas... Textbooks!

Jack1373 Wrote: Jun 29, 2010 11:05 AM
Is everything that Texas wants to include relevant or just a a reaction to the liberal left? Is everything that Texas wants to discard really unnecessary? Maybe there should be an expansion of history to lower grades and an emphasis ob Civics and American documents; there is more that just the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution to understand.

Preying on the National Day of Prayer

Jack1373 Wrote: Apr 20, 2010 12:25 PM
If Yoshi was better read in history and not just the court decision, he would better understand that Chuck is right. Since when are the courts infallible? History and experience have proven that all the courts have made decisions that have been overturned. SCOTT DRED for goodness sake. Congress not being infallible either had Prohibition. Our Founders have proven the need for prayer, God or some kind of deity driven providence. Man (in this case media and atheists/agnostics) are scrambling for a point by pressing Jefferson’s “wall of separation” comment to the Baptists. There are walls between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government. That does not mean they do not work together; they are of the same house and no...

Sinkhole on the High Road

If attacking Sotomayor’s temperament was a bad political strategy, how do explain the maniacal rant Sen. Ted Kennedy went on during Robert Bork’s Senate hearing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNaasFvvFlE If women were treated differently, then you must have been absent the days when Ruth Bader Ginsberg (Vote 96 to 3) and Sandra Day O’Connor (Vote 99 to 0 were before Judiciary committee. I’m sorry, but reports of Sotomayor’s temper have not originated with Republican politicians or pundits, but with a range of lawyer who have been in her court. By the way, Kathleen, the whole Senate Judiciary Committee was ”of European descent”; yes 19 slices of Wonder Bread! The Democrats were certainly trying to “brown-nose” Sotomayor. (opps, was that...

Fire Gen. Casey

Jack1373 Wrote: Nov 13, 2009 10:18 AM
Gen. Casey should not have stepped into politics, but simply stated that there is an ongoing investigation. Maybe the General should have taken a lesson from President Obama’s Harvard Crowley-Gates debacle. Maj. Hasan should have been removed long ago. Diversity should be a casualty and not as collateral damage, but from a direct hit. There is too much tolerance and there should be NO PC when it comes to our military. There wasn't a problem during WW2 when AMERICANS of Italian, German and Japanese descent fought against their homelands. In particular, 110,000+ Japanese were singled out , rounded up and “interned” at Manzamar, CA. Diversity did not play a part then. In fact, thousands of American born Japanese (“Nisei”) fought in the...
