What you're forgetting is that "what they went through" is pretty much behind us. It is not over for gays, and many of them are also racial minorities. Growing up Conservative& Traditional can be far worse than growing up black, because the Conservative & Traditional kid may have to face a hostile family as well as a hostile society. And from the vitriol expressed in these posts, it's easy to see why. Working toward equal rights for everyone, including Conservatives & Traditionalists, is not insulting to anyone.

Am I to understand that during the past 50 years, Cuba became the toilet it is because the US has an embargo against it? Are there not over 220 other countries in the world? Do they not have economies? Do they also have an embargo against Cuba? How can one country, the US of A, be the sole reason CUBA is a a third world sewer? Let them trade with everyone else. Most likely, other recipients of US largess are using our beneficence to trade with Cuba. If we do trade with Cuba, can we trade Obama for a good left-fielder?
