In response to:

The Newtown Tragedy

American Liberal, Read some history, please. Keep your guns in the armory? Under whose control? Shoot to kill someone in possession of a gun? Basically, you support tyranny. Live by my rules or die! You really don't understand liberty and how fragile it really is. The 2nd Amendment threatens you and your ilk because it prevents your agenda from being realized. Americans are pretty tolerant and actually apathetic about slow creeping attacks on their liberty. There does, however, exist a line in the sand that you statist not dare cross with an armed American citizenry. Please exercise your 1rst Amendment right to expose your ignorance.

You are correct. Unfortunately tragedies like these are all the excuse the communist party in control needs to subvert the constitution. With emotions running so high, many, perhaps a majority, will be duped into agreement.

Once the second is gone, free speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion and to peacably assemble will go right down the drain after it. This scenario was repeated time and again throughout the 20th century. And what followed wasn't 27 dead, it was tens of millions at the hands of their own governments. That's what liberals fail to understand.

I am a hunter and own a 38 revolver for home protection. But, explain one thing to me. Why do we need to approve semi automatic and automatic weapons, expanded magazines, pistols that shoot 5 bullets per second? Cong. Chomert said that it was because we need to be able to fight back against the government. Well, the government has 50 mm machine guns and rocket launchers and nerve gas and nuclear weapons. Should citizens have these weapons. How will a sig sauer do against a well trained seal fully armed? It doesnt seem that it makes sense to allow these weapons in the hands of those that might become mentally ill or extremely criminal? There ARE evil people out there.

no you are not a hunter, you are a poser. hunter would know that no semi auto pistol fires 5 rounds per second...where did you read that Huff HO? it isn't the actual conflict but the possibility of one that keeps government in check. Are you saying that they would use nuclear weapons on ti american citizenry? then your argument is illogical, we should be able to have machine guns.

We are a free people still, in spite of the efforts of the lib/prog herd to make us less free, remove the second amendment, and stop the excersize of free speech. As such, every honest person may use their own discrestion to own what they choose.

As the mother of five-year-old twins in a small town not too far from New York city, yesterday's events in Newtown hit close to home -- literally and figuratively.  It's hard to imagine the depths of shock, sorrow and anguish rippling throughout our community in the wake of yesterday's hideous crime.

It is a terrible, terrible thing to be reminded, once again, of how powerful, how senseless and how ugly the face of evil can seem.  It is terrible even to have to acknowledge that such evil exists in the world.  But it does, and there's no use in...
