WWI, the Not So Great War

True, but that misses a larger point. The US was going through it's Progressive Fever. The domestic damage was done. But WWI allowed the fool Wilson to harm the whole world with his ludicrous involvement as Versailles. Its depressing that even after 100 years the horrific error of WWI is not widely seen as an act of criminal insanity on the part of the leadership class of every nation that got involved.

WWI was a war about nothing that an unleashed unimaginable disaster on civilization. WW1 lead to the rise of Nazism. Communism. It created the political conditions in today's Middle East and the Balkans. The verdict of history should be that the 'great and the good' can destroy everything and get away with it. They can unleash a blizzard of lies and nonsense. "War to End War", "War to make the world safe for democracy" and then never, ever be found guilty of criminal governmental malpractice.
All five of these attitudes are actively encouraged in media and education.
Let's have "Separation of School and State". Complete decentralization. Slay the government education beast and let parents settle the question for themselves. We've run the experiment and having entrenched empire-building bureaucratic interests educate 85% of American children is a downward spiraling disaster. The kids are poorly educated and the state governments go broke. Who thinks we need more of that? The real mystery is why any Christian or Conservative would send their own kids into a system that seeks to indoctrinate those kids into an antithetical worldview.
Public education is probably the biggest source of our political problems. It amazes me that any Conservative or Christian sends their children to an institution that is officially atheist and whose employees are members of radical public employee unions. Who are the plurality of delegates at the Democratic Convention year after year? Public school teachers. What sort of outlook do we expect our children to learn at such places?
Conservatives need to start fighting the culture war .....That means coining words that can be used as political weapons..... We are decades behind the liberals in this.....They have invented political words that have the power to cause others to fall back in a confused jumble of defensive mumbling at their use....."Racist, sexist, homophobic" have immense power in our society....Which would be laughable if it weren't true.....Of course liberals are anti-American, but that word won't do....it doesn't quite hit home....We need a new word.....Something that means "reverse-xenophobe"....As a xenophobe despises foreign people and traditions a "Reverse-Xenophobe" despises the people and traditions of his own land...But what word?
