For a start, I think we should take it upon ourselves to teach the WORLD to read. I suggest this should be a One Percenter Project. We can do this and do it now. Governments could do it but it would take a year to start. There readily exists the technology to reduce the number of teachers required by increasing their presence. Lap tops, satellite feeds, DVD players, and even smart phones are among the devices. We also have linguists who would very much like to do something important with what they have learned. Real hope and not a con-job. Real change instead of turmoil.
