Consevatives "give more to charity" because they tithe to their churches. Remove the church contributions, and include the liberal "I don't have money so I'll give my time" and liberals give more to charity than conservatives.

Why would you remove those? Are you suggesting that charity must be secular? Are you saying that Liberals aren't religious? What evidence do you have that Liberals donate more time?

Conservatives have been shown to volunteer far more than liberals and also to give blood at far higher rates. Take away liberals penchant for "contributing" in ways that benefit themselves (e.g., the opera, their kids private schools, PBS, etc.) and they give virtually nothing - like Al Gore paying "carbon offsets to himself while flying in private jets to one of his mansions.

Actually that is not true. Read "Who Really Cares" written by a liberal who was surprised by his findings. Conservatives are FAR more charitable because they do not believe in government being the great solver of all problems. Not only do they give more, and NOT just to churches, but they volunteer more and give of their time and talent. You are not correct. Please get some facts.

I don't know what a "consevative" is, but churches are legitimate charities providing food and clothing to the poor, health services, homeless shelters domestically, and aid to the needy overseas.

It doesn't matter what charity you give to, if taxes were lower there would be more dollars for those charities.
On the last day of 2012, Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen inadvertently clarified two huge matters regarding the left.

The first was the ignorance about conservatives and conservatism that permeates the left. The second was the primary reason decent people identify with the left: the effective caricaturing and demonizing of the right. Were it not for caricature and demonization, most otherwise intelligent and decent people would not be on the left.

This is what Cohen wrote in his column, "Republicans Adrift:"

"It is conservatism that is both intellectually exhausted and nearly indefensible. It is the movement of the ideologically ossified,...
