Neek, please distinguish between "our nation" and "our government." They are not the same thing. The government was meant to be small and have nothing to do with the church (which is not the same as "nothing to do with God.") That's why the only place the church appears is where it's protected from the government. However, there is 1 place in the Constitution where God rules completely. It's the only clause that applies to all 3 branches of government, and to state governments as well. It's where elected officials are required to swear an oath to uphold the Constitution. The oath is to God -- because officials were expected to be faithful to Him.

Wasn't Thomas Jefferson a President who swore that oath? It may have been to a Deistic God since rendered unneccesary by science...but he certaintly wasn't swearing to the sick-minded Christian God of the old testament who ordered genocide and genital mutilation and then thought it'd be fun to be born on earth to get tortured to death so a sin that a talking snake brought about could be wiped clean...

When did...

1) ....Educated people become so unfamiliar with small business that they began to believe that a company will practically build itself as long as the government provides roads, street signs, and police?

2) ...Freedom change from something we should all be seeking to something we're supposed to be terrified to face without the government holding our hands?

3) ...We stop asking, "Can we afford this?" along with "Is this a good idea?" when it comes to government programs?

4) ...Demanding that people come to this country legally if they want to stay...
