It was wrong to supply the weapons, but does anyone really think they would not be able to get the weapons from other places? Its like gun control laws in this country, any one with common sense knows that if you want a gun you can get it, no law will stop you......I really can't blame the administration for the deaths of all those people, but I do hold them liable for breaking the law and supplying the guns in the first place.....

You double speak indy...your first observation is a factual reality here in the good ole U.S.A. However, why can't you hold the administration for the deaths if they were a direct results of the guns we administered to the outlaws. That seems to be the admission there. It is only a matter of conjecture that guns received from somewhere else would have ended with the same result.

I can't hold them responsible because I know they can get the guns from other places...its not like if the administration had not run F&F they would have no guns...they would have had the weapons no matter what......its like blaming a gun store for selling to someone who eventually uses it for a crime, don't blame the store, blame the moron who used the weapons.

I am guessing you are a conservative, as am I, so you probably have similar views on gun control, the reason I have this view is because I know that its not the weapon its the person that makes the decision to kill....and no matter how many rules and laws you make a person who wants something will get it..the same applies here. the administration is guilty of supplying not murder

Obama is a liar. How can anyone with dignity support this man who is a compulsive liar, constantly bending the truth and main motivation comes by pitting American against American. God bless the USA and I trust in Hi plan regardless of the outcome of this coming election.

Or…… If we re-elect 0bama, we deserve what we get. Maybe the plan is to actually teach us that "elections have consequences".

Oh...and Indie....accept my most profound thanks. I had a 5:1 bet with my friends that you would say something ignorant in less than 10 minutes. I won my bet! Life is good! Thanks again.

Good enough indy...but I still contend that the furious input of the Fast & Furious dubbed mission put the outlaws on a fast paced mission that blindsided the border agents in its content and scope. Certainly the outlaws may have gotten guns elsewhere, but was it necessary they be gift wrapped on such large quantities by the U.S. Government?

you are welcome, glad you made some money.....I do not know what him being a liar has to do with my post??? I am talking about my view on gun control and how you have to apply the same logic in all situations, not choose when it best fits your agenda....

W, I agree, it was wrong to supply the guns, they should be held liable, I am sure Holder will be the fall guy in the end....BUT I just cannot blame them for the murders of the agents or the people of Mexico....

btw, thanks for at least not acting like a dbag like the half the other people on this forum, I usually post some thoughts and get attacked by someone who has something ignorant to say......

While it is true that the drug cartels could've gotten weapons through other means, the fact remains that ATF officials actively encouraged and in some cases practically forced gun dealers to violate the law. That is called Aiding and Abetting in the commission of a felony, hence whether the drug cartels would've gotten firearms anyway is inconsequential to the argument at hand. Since there was no intention of intercepting the weapons before they crossed the border, no manner by which to track them once they did so, and since the Mexican government was never involved with the operation, no authority to arrest anyone with the weapons south of the border, why do it? Shouldn't the officials who broke the law be held accountable?

On December 15, 2010, ATF Special Agent John Dodson’s life changed forever when Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed in the Arizona desert. At least two of the guns left at the scene were linked to Operation Fast and Furious. Before Terry was killed, hundreds had been killed in Mexico as a result of the program, leaving only blood stained concrete and horror behind.

For a year prior to Terry’s murder, Dodson worked as part of ATF Phoenix Gunrunning Group VII, the group assigned to carry out the bulk of Fast and Furious. He was told...
