There can be no peace until Muslims abandon their desire for the destruction of Israel.

Exactly right. In the early 70's, I had occasion to be in group discussion in which David Kennedy, who had been Secretary of the Treasury was, at the time, an Ambassador at Large, participated. He related that he had just come back from Egypt and a meeting with Nasser. He told how they had gone out and were overlooking the Sinai when Nasser commented "if you want to understand the Arab-Israeli conflict, read the book of Joshua." But I agree with you, it goes back farther than that.
If they don't think it can happen here, let them ponder how it happened in a Germany that was known for its education, culture, with great music; a land of philosophers. The ideas of Hitler were born in the great universities with philosophers like Kant and Hegel. The teaching that the State is everything sprang from Hegel and filtered down to the masses. By the time Hitler came along, it was widely accepted (and still is today) that the people are owned by the State. Isn't that the direction we are headed here and now? Jewish suicidal positions have baffled me for years. This country has afforded them more freedom and independence than they had kn own in over 2000 years. It has been the principles of freedom that formed the foundation of this country that created the best way for all people to live free and prosper. If they think that they can let go of the tiger's tail at some point, they will be torn apart. I implore them to open their eyes before it is too late.
Considering that every Democrat in DC was complicit with Obama's "lie of the year," why would any sane person vote for any Democrat ever again until they change their stripes?

I have often told people that I am not equal to myself from morning to afternoon. :)

I have literally seen Hutchinson's arguments thousands of times. It requires an entire philosophical and psychological system to analyze the errors his position contains. For starters, his position on income equality is a primitive idea that the whole tribe should share today's kill equally. But even in primitive societies, the expert hunter often received an extra share plus tribal honors. The argument that since we were born with greater talents and opportunities, we have no right to them. Well, Mr. H., the same goes for life itself. I didn't do anything to have life. Are we to deny a claim to a right to it? If I was born with it and had nothing to do with having life, talent, and other advantages, what gives anyone else the right to them? NOTHING. What H's ideas inevitably lead to is force; the slavery of the able to serve the less able. It is questionable whether equal income is even desirable. But even if it is, any method to get there other than individual freedom, is tyranny by those "visionaries" who deem themselves more equal than the rest to make those decisions for everybody else.

Masking Totalitarianism

Positive freedoms are attempts at freedom from the laws of nature and reality will win out in the end. In the meantime, the slaves to it are on both sides. Those enslaved by having to provide and those enslaved by the dependency it creates. The only "winners" are those who grant themselves elite status contrary to what they deserve.

The Passing of Progressivism

I tend to agree with the other comments so far. What socialists/communists/progressives always seem to claim is that their ideas are great. They just weren't carried out right. The constant appeal to the lower instincts of people; envy, hate, etc. will be used again and again. An educated populace might resist it, but we don't have one and as more and more depend on handouts, I fear only a total collapse and perhaps generations of dark ages will bring about a substantive change. In the meantime, the encroachment of Islam and Sharia law will accelerate to bring an end to civilization for a long time. We must start NOW rejecting the altruist "morality" that somehow those who produce owe a livelihood to those who don't. We must solve out debt problem and that can happen only with freeing the market, production, and getting rid of most government programs and spending, selling off government properties and making them productive rather than a drain on the taxpayers. But first and foremost, we have to educate people to the cannibalism of the social welfare state.
If it wasn't for the racial support, he'd be in the low 30s. That too seems to be slipping, especially among the young. Recent polls show that his support among blacks has slipped from the 90s to the 70s, still a big cushion for the over all numbers.
