We attach whistles to our vehicles, which works pretty good to keep the does from running out in front of our cars. Drive slowly! And, remember does usually travel in groups, so one crossing in front of you doesn't mean they are all passed. It is aggravating that the followers will keep coming and run right in front of you or into your car.
