Perhaps the thing to do is to look at the research from countries that have allowed same sex marriage. It has not helped to improve their society. Why don't we try to learn from others actions instead of thinking we can do it better. People are people, regardless of nationality, we will have the same problems. And let's stop equating sexual orientation with race and gender. Sex is always a choice, race and gender are not.

I think the idea is to improve the lives of gay couples, not of society, but it might do that as well.

And, while sex with anyone is a choice, sexual orientaiton is not. I know I didn't make a conscious choice to be attracted to women, so I can't imagine that any gay person chooses his orientation.

One of the tragedies of homophobic societies is that it encourages gays to make the wrong choices. In China it's estimated that 15 million gay men are married to women. In this country, count Ted Haggard, Jim McGreevey, Eric Massa, Sen. Larry Craig, Biship Eddie Long and millions of other men among the gays who opt for conventional marriages because of societal pressure. It is not healthy for anyone involved, and we shouldn't encourage it

It's a choice, pure and simple. Those that are heterophobic seek to rationalize their choice in same sex relationships; it's not natural, never has been and it's certainly not biological by nature. Since those that choose that lifestyle cannot reproduce, they recruit and force their ideology on those that don't agree or on the innocent children through school indoctrination in an attempt to 'normalize' the behavior and gain its acceptance all because they've given themselves over to their sexual desires instead of being of sound mind and a rational being as God meant them to be.

Not biological in nature? That is simply untrue.

Dr. Richard Pillard, a psychiatrist at Boston University School of Medicine, points out that homosexuality exists "in virtually every animal species that has been exhaustively studied." In her book "Evolution’s Rainbow," author and evolutionary biologist Joan Roughgarden explores the range of diversity in sexuality, including homosexuality, within the animal kingdom. The bonobo chimp of the Congo, man’s closest cousin in the animal kingdom, is almost 100 percent bisexual.

In biology, anything that occurs in more than 1 percent of a species is considered natural, not an anomaly. Homosexuality is FOR SURE a natural state of being.

The idea that kids can be indoctrinated or recruited into becoming homosexual is a dangerous myth. Children are what they were born to be, and no gay parent, teacher or any role model can change that.

What does it say about your parenting skills if you think your son or daughter can be so easily evangelized by homosexuals? In my mind, anyone who is concerned about kids being recruited should stop trying to coerce gay kids into becoming straight. They will fail, of course, but that' where the real attempt at "recruiting" takes place.

Higher Risk of Mental Health Problems for Homosexuals
You are correct. There is nothing beneficial and productive about this chosen lifestyle.

The country with the longest experience with same-sex marriage is the Netherlands, and today about 2 percent of all marriages involve same-sex couples. And, while some may tell you that's because it's a European wedding "destination," that isn't true. The law there requires that at least one of the individuals being married is a Dutch citizen.

On the 10-year anniversary of same-sex marriage in the Netherlands, Boris Dittrich, a member of the country's Parliament, said, “Heterosexual couples did not turn away from the institution of marriage, nor did the world isolate my country. Civilization as we know it did not end. And, as far as I can tell, God did not punish the Netherlands."

Homosexual marriage degrades a time-honored institution.
Homosexual marriage is an empty pretense that lacks the fundamental sexual complementariness of male and female. And like all counterfeits, it cheapens and degrades the real thing. The destructive effects may not be immediately apparent, but the cumulative damage is inescapable. The eminent Harvard sociologist, Pitirim Sorokin, analyzed cultures spanning several thousand years on several continents, and found that virtually no society has ceased to regulate sexuality within marriage as traditionally defined, and survived.

Those who remember the old version of the SAT might recall the analogy section: “This is to that as that is to this.”

The SAT no longer requires students to demonstrate aptitude in reasoning through this vital cognitive exercise—unfortunate because so many Americans find it difficult to recognize false analogies. And no group has exploited this deficiency more than politicians.

Adam Cohen observed in a 2005 New York Times piece: “Intentionally misleading comparisons are becoming the dominant mode of public discourse....
