They had many prayer sessions whilst deliberating. You may have noticed that God is in the Declaration and in many state charters. The original ones anyway.

I agree. I doubt that one day our founders just decided that they had enough and tookup arms against the King. Based on all the writings that I have read (Declaration of Independence, The Preamble to and Constitution / Bill of Rights and Fedralist papers) God was very much on their minds.
