...note that I realize the ostensible reason for confiscation of wealth under color of law is to benefit the have-nots...but who are we kidding here?) The government has no right to take any property from any citizen in order to give it to another citizen - that is not the intent of the taxing authority. Taxes may be levied TO PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE, not (as Mr. Obama put it so well) "to punish our enemies and reward our friends." Road construction is one thing, massive wealth transfer is another. So...when do we fight?

The interests of socialism or collectivist interests seemed to have gamed society. The governing class has grown too powerful. The dominant culture undermines values of independence and free market capitalism. The major media has lost all pretense of truth and accountability. We seemed to have raised a generation with little interest in true liberty, responsibility, and self government. This election has been an eye-opener for me. I see a nation on path to unsustainble welfare state, slave to debt, and unable to defend its interests. We will be Greece on a grand scale.

Illbay...

All of what you note can lead to nothing other than Civil War... by 2050 in the United States.

I'm good for secession right now. Call the red states and the blue and I'll move my family to reddest. Conservatives only have two handbooks to live by: The Bible and the U.S. Constitution. Any situation you need to deal with will be covered in one of these two documents. Choose wisely.

Barack Obama wants you to know that the rich are out of control.

And I partially agree. It’s a matter of fairness.

After thinking about it for a few years, he has finally figured out that our economic problems have a very simple explanation: There are too many rich people.

I know of at least one too many. The one occupying the White House? Way too rich.

(Editor's note: I'm taking a few days off. I'll see you guys again on Tuesday)

Too many rich people are causing a jobless “recovery.” Having too many rich people caused gas...
